The MEQP-1A+ uses three Sowter Audio transformers made in the UK, a US made 2503 style custom output transformer, two Stam Audio SA-2520 discrete op amps, three Carnhill inductors and three tubes including a 6X4 tube on the power supply famous for its “sag” on these units. Sowter transformers, though expensive, far exceed any other offering when it comes to low end, sonic timbre and the unique frequency response that faithfully reproduce the tone of a vintage unit.
